Amazon Flex calculates your rolling hours on a 168-hour continuous window. It takes the total hours worked over the last 6 days plus today. When you hit 40 hours in this window, you cannot accept new offers until older blocks age out past 7 days.
A "soft-cap" is when Amazon Flex's algorithm hides delivery blocks because your rolling hour total is too close to 40 hours. For example, if you have 37 hours in your rolling window, you will only see 3-hour or shorter blocks.
Under standard policy in most US delivery regions, Amazon Flex limits drivers to 8 scheduled hours per calendar day. During Q4 holidays or Prime Week, Amazon occasionally lifts this to 10 hours/day.
